Playtest & Examples
Background
I’m an experienced roleplayer in my late 30’s who have read and tried a LOT of systems. I’ve always liked the stuff in DnD and love the Baldur’s Gate games and Planescape Torment but have never been a fan of DnD as an RPG tabletop system (mainly I hate vancian magic, hitpoints and level based progression). These feelings generally applied to DnD derivates like 13th age, pathfinder and others, although I was still intrigued by much other stuff in those products. So when I stumbled over the SAVAGE PATHFINDER source book I was very interested indeed. I have played and liked savage worlds before, it is very pulpy and in my opinion is very suited to a kind of matinee like adventure feel, a style I am very comfortable in playing. Also the pathfinder savage worlds corebook might be my favorite outing of the savage worlds system, it is a very comprehensive core book that feels very accessible. Suddenly I was very inspired to write something.
Player Characters
Below is a description of the characters my players created. It is a good example of what type of characters could fit in this setting.
The Gish

Played by one of our most experienced RPG players, who has gotten quite adept at GMing himself, he liked the idea of playing a PC that belongs to this lawful and arrogant race. I think a githyanki fits perfectly into the setting, provides interesting abilities as well as challenges and I think the player will handle it very well. He drew the image below himself.

The robot

This character is created by the player who is interested in puzzles in rpgs but haven’t quite gotten into the hobby as much as the rest of us. The idea for his character was first just a throwaway joke that he wanted to play “HK-47” known from the “knights of the old republic”- game, but that idea was further developed into an actual concept. This character is a former part of the staff in Chromeria, but his control disc has ben altered by the attack and now he expressess free will. The drawing below is made by this player.

The sorcerer

This player has also GMed and is quite experienced in the hobby. He really likes playing magic users and want to be a gnomish illusionist, possibly originating from the fey wilds. He is logical and is probably more of the temperament that RPGs is a game than some of the rest of us that focus more on the portrayal side of the hobby.
The druid

This player is very new to RPGs and Im not sure she will actually be part of the game, but she got intrigued by my pitch for the scenario. She was very fascinated with the idea of shape changing and so we talked some about that concept.
The assassin

After some discussions we landed in a kenku assassin for this player. He has some experience playing RPGs, and we landed in sort of bloodborne-similar victorian world where the occult arts was rampant. This kenku was part of an order of assassins and most of the character’s abilities came from there.
